Meet Nicola, Doula of Belfast

A birth companion supporting women across Greater Belfast through pregnancy, birth and beyond.

Nicola Morgan, Doula of Belfast

I’m a birth doula based in County Down, here to walk alongside you through one of life’s most transforming experiences — pregnancy, birth and early motherhood. I support women emotionally, physically and practically, helping you feel informed, confident and truly prepared during this tender time.

My path into this work emerged from lived experience rather than textbooks. I believe our bodies are designed to carry and birth new life, and are capable of healing and thriving when supported with the right nourishment, a peaceful, loving environment and emotional well-being. This isn’t just a profession — it’s a calling, one that continues to shape me every day.

My approach

So much of my work is about prevention — helping you understand what to expect and feel empowered to make informed decisions, so birth feels less frightening and more like something you can look forward to. My mission is to nurture women physically, emotionally and spiritually, with love, kindness and a deep trust in each woman’s intuition. I believe birth is sacred.

Beyond the birth room

I volunteer at a local parent and tots group and serve as a breastfeeding peer supporter — roles that are daily reminders of how valuable a listening ear, a kind word or a shared story can be. Away from doula work, I love creating a toxin-free home, fibre arts like knitting, crocheting and embroidery, and walks and coffee with friends.
